Prayer Before Worship:
O mighty Rock, O Source of life,
Let Your good Word in doubt and strife
Be in us strongly burning
That we be faithful unto death
And live in love and holy faith,
From You true wisdom learning.
Lord, Your mercy on us shower;
By Your power Christ confessing,
We will cherish all Your blessing. Amen

IN OUR WORSHIP TODAY
“Killing It!” is a phrase that means having career success, immense popularity, good looks, and a comfortable living. “Killing It!” is success as our world defines success. The city of Corinth was a place that was “killin’ it.” St. Paul came surprisingly making his personal inadequacies known. He proclaimed Jesus who died on the cross. We often succumb to adopting worldly values, and end up believing our circumstances are obstacles to God working. “But I … am old, am young, am busy, out of shape, tired, battling addiction, too poor” etc. God, however, uses people who admit their weaknesses and problems. He uses what this world calls “foolish.” His love is so persistent that He overcomes any obstacle to save you and employs you as His servant so others are saved.
