Do you wish you had more? Do you wish you were more? People are always striving to be “top of the heap,” as Frank Sinatra put it. Even more, people like to let others know they are “top of the heap.” St. Paul went to the city of Corinth where bragging about status was an art form. But Paul wrote to them, “God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are…” (1 Corinthians 1:28). Jesus gave up all to save you, and calls you to follow in His footsteps of humility.
